Alumnae parent and faculty member, Mrs. Jennifer Kilmer (Christina '16, Michelle '18, Julie '19, Rosie '25) announced at the March 26 student-led assembly that the annual all-school service day will be permanently named the “Anna Diederich Day of Service” in honor of alumna and faculty member, Anna Diederich '17, who passed away in 2023.
After years of being involved in basketball at many levels, Arlington native Alex Eisenberg finally received the opportunity to be a high-school head coach this past season.

Last summer, Oakcrest School launched its Teacher Institute, a professional development program for new and returning teachers. The two-week summer Institute was followed by additional training workshops throughout the academic year, providing ongoing formation for Oakcrest faculty.
On January 25, the day after the March for Life, the Oakcrest Respect Life Club hosted a pro-life conference with Montrose School, our sister school in Boston, Massachusetts. The workshop was a culminating event which helped all of the students consider and reflect on ways that they could build a “culture of life”.

Each year the classical radio station in Washington, D.C. WETA (90.9) hosts the annual Classical Countdown. Listeners vote on their top three favorite classical pieces and then the top 100 pieces are played the week of Thanksgiving.
For the first time in school history, a dozen Oakcrest students, led by History teacher Mrs. Aimee Maturi and Middle School Director and Latin teacher Ms. Laurie Duncan, will embark “In the Footsteps of Dante” through Rome and Florence.
The junior ring ceremony is a longstanding Oakcrest tradition, bringing the class together to reflect on the Oakcrest experience and step into the role of upperclassmen leaders within the school. The Class of 2026 was recognized in their Junior Ring Ceremony on October 23.

The Oakcrest Teacher Institute was launched in August 2024 to provide new and returning faculty with the training and tools necessary for a successful school year. The Teacher Institute hopes to offer a cohesive picture of an Oakcrest education from the perspective of the educators.
With great joy, Oakcrest School announces the graduation of the 38 members of the Class of 2024. In a beautiful commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 8, the number of Oakcrest alumnae rose to 1,051 since the school’s founding in 1976 in Washington, D.C.
