  • Week of October 28 Highlights

    Middle School

    Ella D. '29 placed 2nd and Evie D. '30 placed 5th at the VCAC Middle School Cross Country Championship

    Upper School

    Congratulations to the Varsity Tennis Team who are 2024 VCAC Regular Season & Tournament Champions! 

    Mary C. was named VCAC Player of the Year

    Denise Mohler & James Palmer were named VCAC Co-Coaches of the Year

    Varsity Cross Country finished 3rd at VCAC Champs.  Cecilia A. '27 finished 3rd overall earning First Team All Conference recognition and Grace L. '27 finished 13th overall earning Second Team All Conference Recognition. 


  • Week of October 21 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics 

    Middle School Athletics
    MS Tennis: Fell to Holy Child on 10/22. They will be playing their final match against Flint Hill on 10/30. 
     
    MS Field Hockey: Well-played loss to Flint Hill, 0-2, Win over Brookwood Schoo, 2-0, with two goals by Ana Paula V. '30.
     
    MS Volleyball A: Fell to Seton in the conference semi-finals, ending their season with a 3-5 conference record.
     
    MS Volleyball B: Win over Congressional School on 10/22, will play SSSA on 10/28. 
     
    MS Cross Country: Participated in Potomac School Invitational where we had the largest team making up for over 50% of the runners!

  • Week of October 14 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics
    The Charger Varsity Tennis team is proudly 7 wins into their 2024 season without a loss, and for the first time in program history is ranked #10 in VISAA Division I girls tennis!  
     
    Leading the team at #1 singles is Mary C. '27 who is undefeated, grinding out seven consecutive matches, including a 2 1/2 hour marathon win against Madeira last Thursday!  Mary, teaming up with Rocio B. '28, is also undefeated at #1 doubles.  
     
    Zoe P. '29 is unbeaten at both #2 singles and  #2 doubles (teamed with Irene B. '25), surprising her older competitors with her mighty strokes. Irene B. '25, our lone senior, is also unbeaten at both #4 singles and #2 doubles (teamed with Zoe P. '29), in hard won matches through her mental toughness.

    And our #5 and # 6 players who play at #3 doubles together, Amelia W. '26 and Sara R. '26 respectively, are both undefeated in their singles matches, as well as their doubles matches. Their positive energy and encouraging words for each other has helped them a number of times to come from behind and win the match.   

    The girls team has a combined record of 50 individual match wins! Irene B. '25 and Amelia W. '26, our Team Captains, have shown great leadership to a very young varsity squad with their hard work ethic, encouraging words and strong faith, providing the girls with the necessary fortitude and toughness needed to win.     
     
    Tennis hosts Bishop Ireton on Monday October 21 at Upper Lakes.

    Middle School Athletics

    Middle School Tennis beat National Cathedral School Wednesday:
    Singles: Emily '29 (6-3), Feli R. '28(6-3), Claire H. '28 (6-3), Sophia C. '29 (6-2)
    Doubles: Winnie B. '29 and Pili B. '29 (6-0) and Clare K. '29 and Anna (2-6)
     
    Middle School Field Hockey lost to St Stephens & St Agnes despite a great performance by Noelle R. '29.
     
    Middle School volleyball beat Immanuel Christian leaving them with a 3-4 record. 
     
    After a rocky start in the first set, the Middle School Volleyball B team came back to win against Congressional School in 3 sets. 

  • Week of October 7 Highlights

    Middle School Athletics

    Congratulations to our Middle School Volleyball B Team. After a rocky start in the first set, the Chargers came back to win against Congressional School in 3 sets. 23-25, 25-12, and 15-6.

    Middle School A lost to Fredericksburg Christian after hard fought sets. They will meet them again for a chance to win later this month.
     
    Tennis had a successful Match over Potomac yesterday! Our girls won every set.
     
    Field Hockey lost to Potomac, and in the last seconds of the game to Bullis, giving us a record of 0-4.

     

  • Week of September 30 Highlights

    Varsity Highlights

    JV Volleyball defeated Trinity School at Meadow View, 2-1 to improve their record to 5-3.
     
    Varsity Volleyball secured their first win in a tight match against Trinity School at Meadow View, 3-2.  
     
    Varsity Cross Country finished 3rd at the Covenant Life School Invitational on Saturday 9/28.  Cecilia finished Second overall. Also scoring for the Chargers were Grace L. (10th), Maude P. (13th), Margaret P. (17th), Emma S. (20th).

    Middle School Highlights 

    The Inaugural Middle School Field hockey team had their first goal scored by Anna-Paula V. '30 in their game against Holy Child. While they lost 5-1 it was a great match. 0-2.
     
    Middle School Volleyball A beat Holy Child in two sets leaving them with a record of 2-3.
     
    Middle School Cross Country placed 3rd in the Covenant Life School Invitational Saturday. Ella D. '29 placed 2nd with a time of 13:30!

  • Week of September 16 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics

    In their first season as a Varsity team, Field Hockey lost a close game to St. John Paul the Great, 0-3 and lost to Fredericksburg Christian School, 1-3.  Olivia Z. scored the first goal in the varsity program!
     
    Varsity Tennis defeated Seton 9-0 and Trinity Christian School 9-0 to continue their undefeated season.  The starting line-ups: Mary C., Zoe P., Rocio B., Irene B., Amelia W, and Sara R, are undefeated so far this season!
     
    JV Volleyball is now 4-1 after defeating Holy Child 2-1, losing to Seton School 0-2 and defeating Trinity Christian 2-1.
     
    Varsity Volleyball lost to Holy Child 2-3, Seton 1-3 and Trinity Christian 1-3.

    Middle School Athletics

    Middle School Volleyball B fell to Trinity at Meadow View.

  • Week of September 9, 2024 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics

    Varsity Cross Country     finished 4th in their first race of the season!  Cecilia A. was the top finisher for the Chargers.  Full results.
     
    Varsity Tennis is 2-0 after defeating Immanuel Christian (9-0) and Foxcroft School (9-0).  They host rival Seton School on Tuesday 9/17 at 4:00pm.
     
    JV Volleyball is 2-0 defeating Immanuel Christian (2-0) and St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School (2-0).  They host Seton School on 9/16 at 4:45pm.
     
    Varsity Volleyball is 0-2 losing to Immanuel Christian (0-3) and St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School (2-3).  They host Seton School on Monday 9/16 at 6:00 pm.

  • Week of May 6 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics
     
    Congratulations to the JV Soccer team for their undefeated season!! 
     
    Varsity Soccer is expected to make the State Tournament and play on Monday, May 13 at Home. Stay tuned for more details. 
     
     
    Middle School Athletics
     
    Middle School Soccer was named the VCAC Tournament Champions after their defeat over Trinity Christian on Friday, May 3. 
     
    Middle School Softball over Flint Hill on May 6, and their last game will be on Tuesday, May 14 at 3:30 pm vs. Langley School at Home.

    Varsity Athletics

    Varsity Soccer is 7-2-2 after defeating Seton School, 2-0. The team is ranked #6 in VISAA Division 1. Next week they will play the VCAC tournament.
     
    JV Soccer also defeated Seton School, 1-0
     
    Varsity Lacrosse defeated Bishop McNamara 10-7. 


    Middle School Athletics

    Middle School Soccer beat Seton School in the semi-finals in a PK shootout. They will play in the Championship Friday, May 3 at Oakcrest, 3:30 pm, against Trinity Christian School.

  • Week of February 20 Highlights

    Varsity Swim & Dive had 12 athletes compete at the VISAA State Championship this past weekend in Christiansburg (Virginia Tech). The team placed 6th in the state (only 31 schools even scored and we finished ahead of every large private school in Northern Virginia!!). This is our best team finish EVER and we had many great swims:
    Elizabeth B '26 is the State Champion in the 200 yard Individual Medley and the 100 yard Breaststroke!
    Elliott R '28 finished 9th in the 100 yard butterfly and 6th in the 100 yard backstroke!
    Norah K '24 finished 5th in diving with a new school record total points 307.25
    Mary A '27 finished 7th in diving!
    The 200 Medley Relay team of Elliott R '28, Elizabeth B '26, Mae Mae M '27 and Katelyn E '26 finished 9th.
    The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Mae Mae M '27, Emaline C '28, Elliott R '28 and Elizabeth B '26 finished 10th.

    Varsity Indoor Track & Field had 2 athletes compete at the VISAA State Championship this past weekend in Richmond.  Rose S '27 ran her best time in the 500m and Claudia M '24 ran in the 55m.  
     
     

  • Week of February 12 Highlights

    Varsity Basketball is the #4 seed in the VCAC!
    Varsity will host on Tuesday 2/20 at 5:00pm!
    If they win, Varsity will travel to Seton on Thursday 2/22 for the Quarter-Final of the VCAC Tournament.

    Middle School Basketball is the #1 seed in the VCAC!!
    Middle School will host the semifinals on Wednesday 2/21 at 4:00pm. Wear your green and white, grab pom-poms from Coach Sweatman and come cheer us on!
    If they win, Middle School will host the VCAC Championship on Friday 2/23, at 4:00pm

    The Varsity Swim & Dive team finished in 3rd place at the VCAC Conference Championship! 
    Elizabeth B '26 was the conference champion in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke, setting new meet records for both events.  She was also part of our 3rd place 200 Medley Relay (with Elliott, Mae Mae McNichols and Katelyn Erickson) and 3rd place 400 Free relay (with Elliott, Mae Mae and Emaline Cinotti)!
    Norah K '24 was the VCAC Dive Champion...for the 2nd year in a row, with a conference and school record score of 301.7!

  • Week of January 29 Highlights

    Middle School Athletics

    On January 27, our swimmers and divers in grades 6-9 competed in the VISAA JV Invitational Championship and won for the third year in a row. 

    Mary A. '27 won the dive event with a personal best score of 170.90. 

    Chargers won six of 11 events.

    Elliott R. '28 set both meet records and middle school team recoreds in the 50 free (25.77) and 50 back (28.30). She also finished second with a team record in the 50 fly (27.28) and anchored the first place 200 free relay, out touching FCS to earn Swimmer of the Meet recognition. 

    Other Highlights: 
    -- Finishing 1st and 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay: "A" relay of Elliott R. '28, Stella O '28, Emaline C. '28 and Rosemary D. '28 (2:05.24) and "B" relay of Mae Mae M. '27, Teresa Y. '27, Charlotte H. '27 and Juliet V. '27 (2:10.50)
    -- 10 different swimmers finished in 12th place or higher at least once scoring points for the team!

    Varsity Athletics

    In its first official year as a Varsity Sport, Indoor Track & Field  participated in the Episcopal Winter Invite.  Three Chargers qualified to compete at the State Championship meet on Saturday February 17: Rose S '27 in the 500m with a time of 1:31.62, as well as Catherine E. '24 and Claudia M. '24 in the 55m with times of 7.81 and 7.88 respectively.
     
    Senior Swim Meet will take place on Tuesday, February 6 at Madeira School at 4:30 pm.  Come cheer on our seniors-- Lulu G, Norah K, and Kathryn S. 

  • Week of January 22 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics 

    Varsity Swim & Dive:     Finished 4th at the Northern Virginia Catholic High School Swim & Dive Championship.  Elizabeth B. '26 won the 200 Individual Medley with a meet record time of 2:07.69 and also won the 100 Free with a school record 53.65,  Elliot R. '28 finished 2nd in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:01.14 and 2nd in the 100 Backstroke with a school record time of 1:00.25.  Top 5 finishes included: 200 Medley Team finishing in 2nd place, Lindley H. '27 finished 4th in the 500 Free, and the 400 Free Relay finished 3rd!  Elizabeth B. '26 was voted Swimmer of the Meet!
     
    JV Basketball has two wins this week defeating Foxcroft School and Trinity Christian School.  In the nailbiter against Trinity Christian, Amanda R. '26 hit 2 free throws with seconds left to secure the victory.
     
    Varsity Basketball is now 3-2 in the VCAC after a close loss to Trinity Christian School on Wednesday.

    Swim and Dive scored 79 points finishing in 12th place at the National Catholic High School Championship.

    200 IM: Elizabeth B. '26 first with new time of 2:03.52

    200 Freestyle Relay: Amelia M. '26, Katelyn E '26, Mae Mae M. '27, Elizabeth B. '26  1st with new time of 1:48.88

    100 Breaststroke: Elizabeth B. '26  first with new time of  1:03.26

  • Week of January 8 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics: 

    Varsity Swim & Dive:
    Two school records were broken at the VCAC Regular Season Invitational on January 6:  200 Free: Elizabeth B '26 broke the record set in 2009 by 6 seconds with a new time of 1:59.07
    400 Free Relay: Elliott R '28, Emaline C '28, Mae Mae M '27 and Elizabeth B '26 swam a 3:54.08 breaking the record from 2007 by more than 3 seconds.  

    11 swimmers and 5 divers will compete at National Catholic High School Swim & Dive Championship this weekend at Loyola University- Maryland.
     
    Varsity Basketball started the new year with two conference wins defeating Immanuel Christian 52-12 and Fredericksburg Christian 46-38. 

    Middle School Athletics

    Middle School Basketball beat Fredericksburg Christian 35-8.

  • Week of Dec 11 Highlights

    Upper School Athletics 

    Varsity Basketball     has gone 2-1 defeating St. James (MD) and Foxcroft School to improve their record to 3-4.  They were the runners-up in the MAD Hoops Tournament.  Congratulations to Kate N. who tied the school record for points in a single game with 30 against Foxcroft!
     
    Rock Climbing defeated Sandy Spring Friends School 92-74 in top rope competition.
     
    Varsity Swim & Dive went 5-2 at the Seton DEcember Invitational, defeating Fredericksburg Christian (161-125), Fresta Valley Christian (220-49), Immanuel Christian (189-82), The Carmel School (224-30) and Trinity School at Meadowview (186-81).  We lost to Seton (114-199) and lost to Trinity Christian (122-186). Senior Norah K.  improved her team record in the 6-dive event with a new high score of 178.5.  She finished first overall.  Full results from the meet are attached.

    Middle School Basketball beat Seton and St Stephens St Agnes to start season with a 2-1 record.

    MS Basketball took home a win against Seton School on 12/4 in the school's first win in the new McGowan Family Athletic Center!

  • Week of Nov. 27 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics 

    Varsity Basketball has started the season 1-2. Varsity was the runner-up at the Teressa French Basketball Invitational. Congratulations to Catherine D. '24 and Mary M. '25 for being named All-Tournament team. In the first regular season game of the season, Oakcrest lost a tight battle to Chelsea Academy. Kate N. '26 scored 19 points and Mary M. '25 had 12 rebounds.

  • Week of Oct. 30 Highlights

    Varsity Athletics: 

    Winter Sports are upon us!
     
    Varsity Cross Country finished 4th at VCAC Championship Meet. Congratulations to Catherine D. who finished 10th overall and earned Second Team All Conference recognition.  Full results are attached.
     
    Varsity Tennis defeated Seton 5-2 to claim the VCAC Tournament Title! Coach Amanda was named Coach of the Year and 5 players earned all conference recognition.



  • Week of Oct. 23 Highlights

    Upper School Athletics 

    JV Field Hockey defeated St. John Paul the Great, 1-0, and tied Fredericksburg Christian to improve their record to 3-5-1!  Thank you to our seniors -- Lulu C, Amelia C and Catherine E!
     
    JV Volleyball defeated Immanuel Christian 2-0.
     
    Varsity Volleyball lost to Fredericksburg Christian and defeated Immanuel Christian 3-1. Congratulations to our seniors Elaine E, Lulu G, Norah K, and Caroline M.
     
    Varsity Tennis defeated St. John Paul the Great 9-0 to clinch the VCAC Regular Season title!  They will host the semi-finals on Wednesday 11/1 at 3:30 pm at Upper Lakes.  Thank you to our seniors-- Ellie B and Neilly M!  Way to go Chargers!  

    Middle School Athletics 

    Middle School Volleyball was named the VCAC Conference Champions after winning against Seton School in the championship on Oct. 26. They beat Fredericksburg Christian School in the semi-finals hosted at Oakcrest on Oct. 25. 

    6/7th grade Volleyball over Trinity at Meadowview on Oct. 24. 

    Middle School Cross Country placed first at the Bullis meet on Oct. 25.

  • Week of Oct. 16 Highlights

    Upper School Athletics

    JV Field Hockey defeated Brookewood in an overtime shootout, 1-0.  Catherine E. '24, Ysens M. '28 and Amelia C. '24 scored during the 1 v. 1 shootouts to secure the win. Ana Marie D. '27 played in goal during the second half and held Brookewood to 1 goal during the shootout.
     
    Varsity Cross Country finished 4th at the VCAC Meet #3 at Leesylvania Park.  Senior Catherine D. '24 finished 5th overall while setting a new school record in the 5k with a time of 20:50.  Full results are attached.
     
    Varsity Tennis defeated Highland School (6-3) and Immanuel Christian School (9-0) to improve to 6-2.  With one conference match left, Varsity continues to be #1 in the VCAC.
     
    JV Volleyball is 6-5 with recent wins against Madeira and Covenant Life School.


    Middle School Athletics 
     
    Middle School Volleyball beat Fredericksburg Christian School, St. Stephens St. Agnes, and Trinity Christian School, giving them a record of 8-2.

  • Week of Oct. 2 Highlights

    Upper School Athletics

    Varsity Tennis defeated Field School (5-0) and Seton School (5-3) to improve their record to 5-2.  Varsity is tied for first in the VCAC with 2 conference matches left before the VCAC tournament starts on October 30.
     
    JV Volleyball defeated Covenant Life School (2-1) and lost to Seton School (0-2).
    Varsity Volleyball fell to Covenant Life School (0-3) to Seton School (0-3).
     
    Varsity Cross Country finished fourth at VCAC Mid-Season Challenge.  Catherine D. '24 and Maude P. '25 led the way for the Chargers finishing in the top 15.  Full results are attached.

    Middle School volleyball beat Trinity Christian School and lost to Covenant Life and Seton giving them a record of 5-2. 6/7th grade volleyball fell to Congressional.

    JV Field Hockey defeated St. John Paul the Great, 9-0, for their first win of the season!  Lulu C. '24, Amelia C. '24, Ysens M. '28, Caro P. '25, and Clare S. '25 all scored for the Chargers!
     
    Varsity Volleyball defeated Brookewood, 3-0, to improve their record to 2-5.

    Upper School Athletics:
     
    JV and Varsity Volleyball defeated King Abdullah during the homecoming matches on 9/15. JV won 2-1 and Varsity won 3-2. 
     
    Varsity Cross Country finished 3rd at the first VCAC Meet of the season on 9/19 at Leesylvania Park. 
     
    JV Field Hockey fell to Covenant School, 1-4, in their first game of the season.  Ysens M. ’28 scored the first goal in Oakcrest field hockey history!
     
    Varsity Tennis is 2-1 in the VCAC defeating Immanuel Christian School and Trinity Christian School, 5-4. They lost a close match 4-5 to rival Seton School.

  • Week of May 8 Highlights

    Upper School Athletics

    Varsity Golf:  Amelia C. shot a 38 and finished 2nd in the VISAA Girls Golf Invitational at Meadowcreek Country Club.  Olivia V. shot a 45 finishing in the top half of the State.
     
    Varsity Lacrosse defeated Trinity Christian School, 11-6, in the VCAC Semi-final game to advance to the Championship game against St. John Paul the Great High School. 

    In a tough Championship game, the Chargers lost to John Paul the Great to finish their season as Runner-up in the VCAC Girls Lacrosse Tournament.  Elizabeth L. led the offense with 4 goals and 5 draw controls and Maddie M. led the defense with 2 interceptions.
     
    Varsity Soccer defeated Fredericksburg Christian School 3-1 in overtime to advance to the Semi-final game against Trinity Christian.  In a hard fought game against the undefeated #1 seed, the Chargers lost 1-5. Trinity Christian team has only been scored on 6 times all season. Goal was scored by Claudia M, assisted by Rose S.
     
    Varsity Softball picked up their first win of the season against Trinity Christian School, 4-1.  This earned them a trip to face Fredericksburg Christian in the Semi-Final of the VCAC Tournament.  The Chargers lost to the Eagles in the semi final.


    Middle School Athletics 

    Middle School Soccer - Green won 8-0 against King Abdullah Academy.

    Middle School Soccer - White fell to Dominion Christian School 3-4 on May 5.

    Upper School Athletics

    Varsity Soccer defeated Fredericksburg Christian 4-0 and lost to Trinity Christian School.  They are currently ranked 13th in Division One of the VISAA. 
     
    Varsity Lacrosse is tied for first in the VCAC!  There are two games left before the VCAC tournament.  

    Middle School Athletics 

    Middle School Soccer - Green lost to Seton School 1-0 on 4/24 and tied with Covenant Life School 0-0 on 4/27. 
     
    Middle School Softball beat Congressional School, 16-1 on 4/27. 
    Eva M. '29 and Rosemary D. '29 both hit grand slams to lead the offense, and they also beat Seton School 10-1 on 4/27.

    Varsity Athletics

    Varsity Lacrosse defeated Trinity Christian School, 15-7.  Elizabeth L. '23 and Maddie M. '26 led the Chargers offense with 5 goals each.  The lacrosse record is now 2-0.
     
    Varsity Soccer defeated King Abdullah Academy, 10-1.  Eight different Chargers scored goals in a dominant performance.  Varsity's record is now 1-1-1. 

  • Week of March 20 Highlights

    Varsity Lacrosse defeated Jackson Reed High School, 14-4, in their first game of the season.  Goalie Elaine E had 11 saves and senior Teddie Y led the offense with 5 goals.
     
    Varsity Soccer lost their first VCAC game of the season, 1-6 to St. John Paul the Great High School.  Junior Ellie B scored for the Chargers.

  • Week of February 20 Highlights


    Swim & Dive:
    Oakcrest sent 10 swimmers/divers to compete at VISAA State Swim & Dive Championship on February 17 & 18.  Chargers had personal best times and scores all weekend. We earned 17th place, scoring 41 points.  There were close to 50 schools represented at the meet, and only 33 schools scored.  Some big highlights:

    Elizabeth B. broke her own school records and was State runner-up in both the 200 yard Individual Medley (2:04.96) and the 100 yard Breaststroke (1:04.86).  Elizabeth was named to the 2nd Team All State.
    200 yard Freestyle Relay team of Katelyn E., Maddie M., Amelia M. and Elizabeth B. finished 17th and broke the school record with a new time of 1:49.88.
    Norah Kissinger finished in 10th place in the 1 meter diving event with a score of 275.05. Norah has set the bar for divers having both the 6 dive and 11 dive highest scores as our school record.
     
     
    Indoor Track & Field
    In our first year as an official team, we had 2 relays and 3 individuals compete at States. The team finished in 16th place overall.
    Zoe B. finished as State Runner up in the 500m (1:18.66) and 10th in the 300m (43.94). She earned 2nd Team All State recognition.
    Catherine E. finished 16th in the 55m dash (7.81)
    Mary W. finished in 23rd place (1:29.58)
    4x200 Relay team of Carmen C, Kate M, Lucy M, and Catherine E finished 14th (1:58.50
    4x400 Relay team of Lianor S, Rose S, Mary W, and Zoe B finished 9th (4:30.27)
     
     
    Rock Climbing Team:
    In the first year as a team, rock climbing competed against Foxcroft in an exhibition match. Oakcrest won 249-126. Charlotte O and Katie K tied for first place in the tournament. Both scored 42 points with a top rope rating of 5.12, one bouldering rating of V5+, and a second bouldering rating of V5+. Anne G, Tyler Reese H, and Josephine L were all tied for third place in the tournament with a total of 29 points.     Varsity Basketball finished the regular season defeating Calvary Temple, 35-22. They finished in 3rd in the VCAC with an 18-7 record.

    Varsity Basketball celebrated their two seniors-- Natalie M and Elizabeth L during Monday's home game against Trinity School at Meadowview.  The Chargers went out on a 9-0 start and never looked back. Natalie scored 25 points to lead the team to victory!  The team has their last regular season game on Monday February 20th and the VCAC Tournament begins on February 23.

    Varsity Swim & Dive:
    The Varsity team we went 2-2 at the VCAC Invitational— defeating Fredericksburg Christian and St. John Paul the Great while losing to Trinity Christian and Seton.  Our divers started the day strong going 1-2-3: Meghan K, Norah K and Patricia R! Elizabeth B. continued her fast swimming, breaking the school record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.32! Full results here.
     
    Varsity Basketball's record has improved to 9-3 after defeating both Fredericksburg Christian (49-47) and King Abdullah Academy (49-9) since returning from break. They host Trinity Christian in a conference game on Thursday 1/19.
     
    JV Basketball defeated King Abdullah 44-13.


    Middle School Athletics

    Middle School Swim:
    The Middle School team split their double-dual meet defeating St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School while losing to Stone Ridge School.  The team had many best times and not to be out done by the Varsity, 2 team records were set during the meet!  7th grader, Elliot R. broke the middle school 50 yard backstroke record with a time of 30.33.  And our middle school 200 yard Free Relay team of Belle W., Emaline C., Rosemary D. and Elliot sped to a new time of 1:55.09!

    Varsity Athletics 

    Varsity Basketball     repeated as MAD Hoops Tournament Champions after defeating St. James and Madeira School (photo attached).  They followed the tournament win with a victory over VISAA rival, Highland School, 43-23.

    JV Basketball fell to Calvary Temple, 43-14.

  • Week of December 5 Updates

    Varsity Athletics

    Oakcrest Swim & Dive @ Icebreaker Invitational:
    This invitational is scored as multiple dual meets, which means it was like swimming 5 separate meets at one time.  We went 3-2 for the afternoon; defeating Immanuel Christian, Carmel School and Fresta Valley Christian.  Full results are here.  
     
    Meet Highlights:
    1- For the first time ever, we competed in the diving event!  Norah K. won the diving with a score of 158.10 and Meghan K. came in 2nd with a score of 138.35.  Big points for us!  
    2- Elizabeth B. not only won the 200 IM and 500 Free events but set new team records in both events.  Both records were from 2010.  Her new record times were:  2:09.51 in the 200 yard IM and 5:19.76 in the 500 yard Freestyle!  These times have qualified her in both events for the VISAA State Meet and National Catholics. Wow!  Great job Elizabeth!
    3- The 400 Free Relay team swam a qualifying time for both VISAA States and National Catholics.
     
     
    Varsity Basketball currently has a 2-2 record after finishing. 3rd in the 18th Annual Flint Hill Tip-off Tournament.  They defeated King Abdullah Academy, lost to Episcopal High Schoo, and defeated Trinity at Meadow View. Freshman Kate N. was named to the All-Tournament Team and Senior Liz L. was named to the All-Academic Tournament team.  In the first VCAC conference game of the season, Varsity lost to Seton School.  They compete in the Madeira "MAD Hoops" Tournament on 12/9 at 4:30 pm.
     
    JV Basketball is 1-1 in the season after losing to Seton School.  They travel to Calvary Temple on Monday 12/12.

    All Winter Athletes are expected to attend a mandatory team meeting on Monday November 7.  Athletes will be cleared by the trainer, meet with their coaches to learn about try-outs and participate in a conditioning session.  Please dress in athletic attire for the meeting. Detailed information about each winter sports-- basketball, indoor track and field, rock climbing, strength and conditioning and swimming-- can be found on the athletic widget on OC.

    Varsity Tennis is the #2 seed for our first VCAC Tournament!  We will be hosting St. John Paul the Great on Tuesday 11/1, 3:30 pm at Upper Lakes.  We would love lots of fans!  If we win, we play in the Championship on Friday, November 4.
     
    Varsity Volleyball will travel to St. John Paul the Great for the opening round of the VCAC Tournament on Tuesday 11/1. 

    Two of our middle school students ran at the Virginia Middle School 4K Cross Country Championship for their club team Elite XC on Sunday, October 24.  Emilia N. '28 placed 8th overall with a time of 15:19.8 and Ella D. '29 placed 21st with a time of 15:55.3.

    Cross Country participated in the Skip Grant Invitational on Saturday, October 22.  Varsity finished 6th and JV finished 5th with Catherine D. and Katherine C. leading the way for the Chargers.
     
    Field Hockey played in their first game ever against Highland School. Congrats on making school history! 
     
    Varsity Tennis lost to Highland, 4-5.  Varsity Tennis is seeded #2 in our conference, VCAC, and will host the semi-final on Tuesday, November 1 at 3:30 pm.
     
    JV Volleyball defeated Flint Hill and St. Andrew's Episcopal School to improve their record to 4-9.
     
    Varsity Volleyball will host Madeira on Monday, October 31 for their Senior Night!  Come help us celebrate our seniors-- Sofia, Madie, Meghan, Liz, Natalie!  The team will then compete in the Virginia Christian Athletic Conference tournament starting on Tuesday, November 1.

    Varsity Athletics

    Varsity Tennis is currently ranked #2 in the VCAC.  The team defeated St. John Paul the Great, 5-2.  On Friday, Oct. 28 the team will celebrate their Seniors-- Mariana A., Mariana B., Sally M., Patricia R. and Josefina T. at 4:00 PM at Upper Lakes Courts.
     
    JV Volleyball defeated Foxcroft, 2-0 for their second win of the season. 
     
    Varsity Volleyball is currently ranked 4th in the VCAC. Their next home match is on Monday, Oct. 24 against Flint Hill.

    Middle School Athletics

    Cross Country won their second tri-meet of the season defeating St. Andrew's Episcopal School and Potomac School.  Ella D. finished first with a time of 15:15 and Cecilia A. finished second with a time of 15:23. Full results are attached here.
     
    6th Grade Volleyball won their first game against Providence Academy, 2-0.  Their next game is on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at St. Andrew's Episcopal School.

    Varsity Athletics
     
    Varsity Volleyball had a tough loss to Virginia Academy.  They will host Fredericksburg Christian on Thursday, October 20 in an important conference match up.  JV and Varsity Volleyball will travel to Trinity Christian School on Friday, October 21 for games at 5:30pm and 7:00pm.  
     
    Varsity Tennis is currently ranked second in the VCAC with two weeks left before the tournament.  Tennis will travel to Trinity Christian on Thursday October 20.

    Middle School Athletics

    Middle School Cross Country finished first at their tri-meet against Potomac School and Stone Ridge School.  Sixth grader Ella D. led the Chargers finishing in second with a time of 14:58.  Cecelia A., Rose S., Elise F., Hayden A., Jane D. and Kathryn H. also finished in the top 10 in the race to secure the win.  Full results are available on the team page on Oakcrest Connect and here.
     
    Middle School Volleyball defeated a strong Virginia Academy team to improve their record to 6-2. They travel to Trinity Christian on Friday October 21.
     
    The 6th grade volleyball team had two tough losses to the 7th grade team from Trinity at Meadow View.  They will host the 6th grade team from Providence Academy on Tuesday, October 18 at Hoops Plus.
