As the Class of 2024 prepares to graduate in early June, Oakcrest is soaking in every last moment with the seniors. To celebrate the class and their contributions to the life of the school, Oakcrest celebrated Senior Appreciation Day on May 1.
Each class gifted the senior class something special. To name a few: the sixth graders left spiritual bouquet cards at each lockers, the seventh graders cheered the class in at the beginning of the school day just as the seniors do on the first day of school, and the eighth graders greeted each with a red rose to begin their day.
During lunch, students dedicated the final Sound Bites (student-led performances) of the year to the Class of 2024, complete with special songs of farewell from the faculty and performances from siblings of seniors. Heidi B. ‘24 performed her original song “2024” which she debuted at the Talent Show
Toward the end of the day, the senior class deans presented each student with the traditional “Paper Plate Awards” superlatives such as Most Likely to Play First Harp in Heaven (Lucy R.) and The Put Me In Coach, I'm Ready to Play Award (Ellie B.)!
