The musical follows the beloved fairytale of a prince who finds himself transformed into a creature as unsightly as his character. It is not until he learns to truly love and earn another’s love in return that he can return to himself.   

Directed by Dr. Kristin O’Malley Ricci, Oakcrest Visual and Performing Arts Master Teacher and Theatre Director, and with music directed by Jessica Irish, Choral Director, the Oakcrest show will also feature the support of Elisa Torres, Visual Arts Teacher, in tech, and Dr. Kat Hussmann, Science Teacher, with choreography. Isabela Wilson ‘19, Student Life and Library Associate, will be assisting Catherine M. ‘25 with costume design, and Tom Crishock (Elizabeth ‘20) will return to manage set design. Beauty and the Beast will include performances from more than 30 students, as well as a crew of students working behind the scenes.

“I am so excited to participate in this year’s production of Beauty and the Beast,” Lorali O. ‘25, who will play Belle, said. “It is such a magical show with so many amazing characters that our wonderful cast can’t wait to bring to life on stage!” 

Performances will take place on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 at 7:00 pm at Ernst Theatre in Annandale, Virginia. Learn more about the Oakcrest Theatre department here.
